II Corinthians 5:7, (For
we walk by faith, not by sight).
I Thessalonians 5:24, Faithful is he that calleth you, who also
will do it.
It was our 25thWedding Anniversary, July 11, 2000 and
Mark asked where in the entire world I would like to go.
Jon was still too unstable so he and Bobby would have to go with us. I did not hesitate; I wanted to go to
New York City and specifically to the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church (BTC) and the
Times Square Church (TSC) pastored by Dave Wilkerson author of “The Cross and
the Switchblade.”
The whole trip was miraculous even though Jon was sullen,
disrespectful and at times downright rude. He was extremely anxious in crowds,
which made traveling by air and walking the streets of New York rather
difficult, but we managed. The
three of us just coped with Jon’s weird behavior and enjoyed ourselves
regardless.
Of course my favorite part was the services at BTC and TSC. We went to BTC the night of our
anniversary. Jon refused to come in
the door so we left him outside with the crowd of people for the next
service. Pastor Cymbala asked all
the men in the house to come forward to pray. Mark officially received his prayer
language that night. What an
anniversary present!
The next day we attended TSC and Jon refused to come at all, so
we left him at the hotel. Mark,
Bobby, and I sat in the balcony in a reserved area for visitors.
We were just enjoying the praise music and listening to the anointed
preaching when the bottom of my feet began to get hotter and hotter, so hot I
was about to leave for the ladies’ room to visualize the problem.
I had come to New York with plantar fasciitis, a painful condition of
the feet.
The service ended
and we were out on the street when I gripped Mark’s arm on one side and Bobby’s
on the other and said,“the Holy Spirit just healed my feet”!
Little did I know that I would be prayer walking Israel within three
months! I have never had that
condition again, when the Lord heals something he does it right!
Thought: God can
heal without specific prayer and/or anyone touching
you.
Action: I testify about this to anyone who will
listen.
