Rev. Maxie Dunnam at Christ United Methodist Church delivered a sermon that spoke to a very immediate and urgent need in my life. The title was "For God's Sake, Be As Christian As You Are". It was based on Matthew 5:13-16, "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again...You are the light of the world...put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
Writing and advertising a book that displays my intimate relationship with the Lord is a scary and risky thing and fear has entered my thinking. But God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit have healed and continue to heal me in Spirit, soul, and body. How could I not share that experience and revelation!
Maxie explained there are two kinds of hypocrites those who think they are something they are not and those who refuse to allow the light of God shine through them. Praise God for the Body of Christ and pastors who overcome fear to speak the truth and minister to all who hear!
